Podcast: Rheuma in the time of corona

Clinical global health

The absence of any data on the risk that SARS-Cov 2 poses to patients with rheumatic disease has been unsettling for the entire rheumatology community. It feels like we’re all fumbling around in the dark.

Rheumatologists in Australia have been championing the effort to shed some light on this by getting doctors to record case studies all around the world.

Aussie rheumatologist Dr Philip Robinson led the formation of the COVID-19 Global Rheumatology Alliance in mid-March, which is coordinating this data collection.

Here we are joined by Dr David Liew, the Alliance’s regional lead for Australia. I’m hoping he has some updates for us on how this pandemic is panning out for patients for rheumatic disease – but it’s early days so let’s see!
